I-405, I-5 lanes closed for construction

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Starting Thursday night, Sept. 3, up to two lanes of southbound I-405 will close from milepost 12 to Coal Creek Parkway Southeast until 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4. The closure affects the Tri-Cities area near the 405 and I-405 interchange.

I-5 will see reduced lanes nightly from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4 near Alger/Lake Samish Road (exit 240) for fish passage construction. Northbound I-5 will also close its left lane nightly from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4 north of North Lake Samish (exit 246). These closures are part of ongoing projects to improve infrastructure and support environmental initiatives.

The closures will impact daily commutes and require drivers to plan ahead. WSDOT advises drivers to allow extra time and follow detour signs. Construction on I-5 fish passage projects is expected to continue through Sept. 10.
