WSDOT announced multiple road closures and lane shifts for Tri-Cities highways beginning July 31 through August 7. The changes include a westbound traffic shift on SR 532 from 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, and a northbound SR 522 lane closure from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 to 3 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6.
State Route 96 will have daily alternating traffic from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. through July 31 for utilities work, and a nightly eastbound SR 96 lane closure from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through August 7. SR 211 will have a full-day lane closure both directions from milepost 2 to US-2 on July 31, with expected 20-minute delays. The Vantage Bridge has ongoing single-lane closures and width restrictions in place 24/7 until further notice.
WSDOT advises drivers to plan ahead for delays during these work periods. The agency states the closures are for maintenance and utility work to ensure safe travel conditions.
