Tri-Cities Transit Adds Evening Routes

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Tri-Cities Transit will launch two new evening bus routes starting July 31, according to a press release posted on July 29. The routes, designated as Route 12E and Route 24E, will operate from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on weekends.

The addition addresses gaps in evening service identified in a 2025 community survey, where 68% of respondents reported needing better late-night transit options. The routes will connect downtown Richland with the Tri-Cities Airport and the Pasco Business Park.

Tri-Cities Transit officials stated the service will be funded through existing operational budgets, with no new tax increases required. The routes will be monitored for six months before potential expansion.
