Tri-Cities Transit Adds Evening Routes

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Tri-Cities Transit began operating new evening bus routes on September 5, 2026, extending service to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. on weekends. The routes connect downtown Richland, the Tri-Cities Medical Center, and the Parkview neighborhood.

The changes follow a community survey showing 78% of residents requested extended evening service. Tri-Cities Transit Director Mark Reynolds stated, 'These routes address gaps identified in our 2025 rider feedback report.' The new schedule includes 12 daily trips per route with free transfers between routes.

The service will run through October 31, 2026, with potential for permanent adoption based on ridership data. Tri-Cities Transit will collect usage metrics to determine if the routes continue beyond the trial period.
