Tri-Cities Transit Board Approves New Route

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

The Tri-Cities Transit Board of Directors approved a new bus route connecting Pasco and Kennewick neighborhoods on August 15, 2026.

The vote passed 5-2 with members supporting the expansion to improve access for residents in underserved areas. The new Route 7 will operate Monday through Saturday, with service beginning October 1, 2026.

Tri-Cities Transit officials stated the route will serve 12 new stops along the corridor, including near the Kennewick Community Center and Pasco's Riverbend Park. The board cited increased ridership data from neighboring routes as justification for the expansion.
